Training programme on Improved practices for safflower cultivation and interaction with oilseed
entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs interacted with the farmers and promised buyback of safflower seed
giving 5% premium price over MSP. The scientists of ICAR-IIOR appraised about the latest
technologies including cultivars of safflower. The seed to seed mechanization of safflower cultivation
was explained to the farmers. The farmers were informed about the benefits of forming the Farmer
Producer Organizations (FPOs), crop insurance and the importance of value addition for realizing higher
income. The farmers were very happy to witness the 20th Instalment fund transfer under PM KISAN
Samman Nidhi.
