Method of application of Londax Power 0.6+6 G in rice

Londax Power 0.6+6 G is a granular herbicide commonly used in rice fields to control a wide range of weeds, including sedges and broad-leaved weeds. Farmers prefer it because it is easy to apply, works effectively in standing water, and helps keep the field clean during the early growth stages of the crop. Proper application is important to get the best weed control and ensure healthy rice growth. Many farmers use this product during the early stages of the crop to reduce competition for nutrients, sunlight, and water.

Before applying Londax Power, the field should have a thin and even layer of water. This helps the granules spread uniformly and activate properly. If the field is too dry, the herbicide does not work well, and if the water is too deep, the granules may float away or collect in one corner. Ideally, water should be about 2–3 cm deep at the time of application. Farmers should allow the soil to settle slightly after irrigation so that the granules can stay on the surface and dissolve slowly.

The correct time to apply Londax Power is usually within 3–7 days after transplanting or sowing, depending on the weed situation. At this stage, the weeds are still young and more sensitive to the herbicide. Applying it late may reduce the effectiveness, as older weeds become harder to control. Before application, farmers should walk through the field and check for the presence of sedges and broad-leaved weeds. If these weeds are visible and still in their early stage, it is the right time to use the product.

Londax Power 0.6+6 G comes in granular form, which makes it easy to broadcast by hand. The recommended dose (as per product label instructions) should be measured carefully. Farmers should mix the granules with sand or dry soil if needed to ensure even spreading. Broadcasting should be done by walking across the field in a criss-cross pattern so that all areas receive equal coverage. Uneven application can leave patches of weeds, which later compete with the crop and reduce yield.

After broadcasting the herbicide, farmers should maintain standing water in the field for at least 5–7 days. This is important because the herbicide works through water activation. If water is drained too soon, the effect may be weaker. Light irrigation can be given if the water level drops. Avoiding major water flow or leakage during this period is also important because it may wash away the herbicide.

Farmers should not disturb the field by weeding or hoeing immediately after application. Letting the herbicide work for a few days gives the best results. Most weeds start showing symptoms within a week, turning pale and drying up gradually. Once the weeds are controlled, the rice crop grows more vigorously because it faces less competition.

Londax Power is most effective when used as part of a proper weed management plan. Keeping the field level, ensuring proper water management, and applying the product at the correct time all contribute to better weed control. By following the right method of application, rice farmers can maintain cleaner fields and achieve healthier crop growth throughout the season.
